2 years ago we moved from LA to Denver. Our favorite cake is angle food. In LA I never had a problem with the Betty Crocker angle food cake mix. Since moving to Denver I have tried 7 cakes ...all unsuccessfully. I have an accurate oven temperature, I use the lower oven rack, I follow the high altitude directions (fresh cornstarch and mixing duration), and I make sure I have an absolutely clean angle food cake pan (not nonstick) and mixer.
